I was wondering this, so I figured others might as well. Since I go to school in a state without front plates, I can easily remove it when I'm there, and mount it back on when I'm at home for rare instances.So first you'll notice that the bracket has these tabs on top, these rest on the top of the solid plate that's behind the grill (the plate that the bracket mounts to).

So hang the bracket here and center it, so you can mark the two holes that need to be drilled.After drilling the holes, you could use the provided screws to screw in the bracket (so it is removable), or you could install the rivets.On an off topic point, I drove a new Fusion today. Didn't even realize an old one parked next to me.

The hex head screws hold the plate to the bracket. The PoP rivets go through the lower recessed mounting holes and through the holes you drilled. You will need a pop rivet gun to make those work, and they will be permanent. I plan on using some self tapping screws so I can remove the plate bracket if I wanted to.That's exactly what I'd want to do.

I just realized that the screws fit through the rivet holes (and screw right in), so if I just buy two more of those to hold the plate on, I should be set.It's interesting that it looks like the holes to screw in the plate to the bracket don't seem to be pre-threaded. I'll look into this later, haha.
