Hi,I just got my SkyStar USB 2 days back and these 2 days have a complete nighmare. Helix metal presets. I am complete newbie to this DVB-PC thing and think am an idiot. HeheheWell my problem is that i am not getting any signals.

I have plugged and installed the proper hardware and software, everything gets detected i am using the 4.4.1 drivers from the official site and i am not using any kind of diseqc (i have a cable directly coming from the dish).I have tried all kinds of softwares from DVB Viewer, DVB Dream, Fast Sat Finder and many many more. But not luck, i have even tried to use different usb ports, the satellite i am trying to tune is NSS6 (i have nilesat and asiasat 3s as well buts its on diseqc and i dont want to get into those complications right now so i am using the direct nss6.)In DVB Dream when i tune is just flies through all the transponders and doesnt pick up even a single channels and says not signal.

Even server4pc shows 0% signal. Altought my FTA STB picks up 70-75% signal.Any suggestions?? Is it a common problem? Hi, I must confess that I have no experience of your card, or any for that mater. It would seem that your dish is not on the sat properly, otherwise you should have some sort of signal.I am not sure if you are using the same dish for the DVB card as for your FTA box. If you are using the FTA dish, I would suggest that you drive it to the Sat you are trying to receive, NSS6, and then see if there is a signal from it.Sorry but I don't think that I have been very much help to you.

Good luck with your problem.Very best regards Wez. I didn't realise you were using a laptop. It may be a power problem - do you have access to a USB hub with it's own power supply? If you do, try using that. Alternatively, can you try the SS on a desktop PC? Or, unplug all USB appliances from your laptop apart from the SS and try that. You might also want to look at the computer power management settings and set the machine to 'always on' and see if that makes a difference. One other possibility (I had a similar issue with a USB-DVB-T unit), try using a USB extension cable to plug the adapter into your laptop - PC's emit all sorts of spurious RF and this may be interfering with your signal. Moving it a short distance away may help.
